Does this mean there has been some form of official news regarding the future of the show?

Re: nope...

For those of us of a certain generation, everything we ever needed to know we learnt from the good Doctor.

... I suspect Middleman could well be (have been) one of those shows for kids today.

Re: nope...

Phew, good. I translated it into 'well, so much for that, Disney overlord bastards'. Good to hear the Disney overlords are bastards, just not necessarily because they foolishly discard the best new show on TV.

Re: nope...

*whew* When I saw the Hartnell still-shot, I immediately thought of this clip and assumed the worst. Keep on keepin' on!

Indeed. Though my favorite bit of Whovian wisdom was stated by Tom Baker.

"What is the use in growing up if you can't act like a child once in a while."

I heard that when I was kid and it stuck with me since.

I will take the Doctor's message as one of hope, and keep my fingers crossed that it is not an official goodbye.

Me too...

The Middleman's one of those things that you can't say goodbye to. It's heartfelt and sweet, and then it smacks you upside the head when you're getting too mushy, but it's always willing to follow that up with a hug to prove it still loves you. And once you fall in love with it, you're stuck.

Yes, that was sappy, and no, I don't care. :-)

This excellent clip prefaced the adventure "The Five Doctors", but is originally from the episode where Susan falls in love with a man from Earth's future, but selflessly (stupidly) decides not to leave her grandfather for him... so the Doctor locks her out of the TARDIS and leaves her behind. He's talking to here through the door, here.

Yikes! My immediate thought was also that this was a bit of an announcement to the future of The Middleman. Still a bit on edge though...

Very glad this doesn't mean you're cancelled.

I came sort of late to the Middleparty, and it would be terribly disappointing to learn it was already over.

spinoff

Since DOCTOR WHO begat TORCHWOOD, we think that THE MIDDLEMAN should have a spinoff series (or at least an episode!) called MIDLAND THEME.

Pop Candy Top 100 People of 2008

Natalie Morales was listed as #85.

Here's the blurb:

85. Natalie Morales. Her character on ABC Family's The Middleman is smart, creative and tough -- and you don't get a lot of those on TV these days. Now all we can do is cross our fingers that the gang will return for another season...
