Too cool!!! Yup, you know you've really reached the geek demographic when we get our Cosplay on... *goes back to working on her Wendy Watson costume for Halloween*
Argh, it's been killing me to find a vest like Wendy's in time for Halloween... those costumes look absolutely great!
(If anybody has a pattern idea they'd love to share, please let me know!)
was what I'd planned to use, but I ran out of time. Fortunately I found this vest
at the local Herberger's
The matching Middlecouple in the photo said they found the base for Wendy's big silver gun at Toys 'R Us (it lights up and makes noise -- no Nerf). I didn't find it on the store web site, so it looks like I'm going on a shopping expedition this weekend.
I saw so many Middleman Costumes that weekend! It was glorious.
That is various levels of awesome!

okay, that's pretty cool.
maybe it'll start a whole retro trend bringing back ike jackets!
Raided the army surplus store, Ike jacket deconstruction soon to follow.
The plan is to be one of "those couples." You know, with the matching outfits.
Not so flattering on your beer tummies, these things.
I'm lost. Who is the broad in white on the right supposed to be? She doesn't look like anyone. Though she probably would have made an excellent IDA

She said she just hadn't finished, and they said to c'mon and get in the picture anyway. Basically she's missing a vest and tie.
FWIW, the room looks kinda empty in that picture, but it really wasn't for the panel. It was great!
Nice. I was originally thinking I'd be a Dr. Horrible or Hammer groupie if I do anything for Halloween - But looking at the picture above... I think I might reconsider and get my Wendy Watson on! Come to think of it, I have a taller guy friend who would be a perfect Middleman. :)
I wasn't able to get to the MM panel because it was at the same time as one of the big BSG ones. But yesterday I did find the MM buttons that someone had left in the Marriott lobby. I practically danced around all day. "I HAVE A NOSER BUTTON!!!"
I was in a vintage store with my friend the other day. We totally geeked out when we saw an Eisenhower jacket. Unfortunately, it was a men's fit. *sigh...
Randomness, but can I say that one reason why I love the Middleman so much is because it reminds me of my current situation? Like Wendy, a lot of university grads have degrees that lead to zero job prospects (that's basically every degree in existance) and don't want to work in an office because of the dullness of it all. (I have a friend that recently quit a government job because of boredom and I did the very same thing a few months back.) You have no idea how much I wish a job like Wendy's actually exists in real life. Heck, I wish a flat like Wendy's exists in reality too.
And see, now I'm torn between a Doctor Who and a Middleman costume for Halloween. I like both because either way, I can wear my glasses!
Sadly, either way methinks I might have to do some explaining about the costume ("See, there's this awesome show that you don't watch because you're too busy with 'The Bachelor'...").
Go with the Middleman costume. Doctor Who's most recent season is a faithless betrayer, and must be shunned until we mindlessly tune in for the next season.

Very cool pics!
I picked up some cool Middleman pins at DragonCon that I plan to turn into magnets, just as I get my glue gun license.
