Love the drawings! MM looks a little more Dirk Hardpeck-esque than Matt Keeslar, but I'm not complaining. Dubbie looks awesome.
I've never been a graphic novel reader, but I'm ready to convert, if it means owning Middleman goodness! (Speaking of which, is the Collected Series Indispensibility out of print or something? Because I can't seem to find it at the local comic book store...)
THANK YOU! I tried to buy this for me my husband for Christmas, but it was sold out everywhere I looked. He'll be getting this for his birthday. Hooray!
I ordered it from Amazon.com shortly after it came out. It was *very* slow. It eventually got here, but I would recommend buying from Viper direct and cutting out the middleman.
I liked these mock-ups when I saw them on Facebook, and I still like them. I just hope there is a reference somewhere in the work to King Kong because, well, he IS family. ;) I am certain this will be a fantastic addition to the Middleman genre.
Sigh... You know, these designs kind of make me wonder what animated episodes would look like. Anyway, out of curiosity, will there be any fumetti, either in the DVD set or graphic novel, using pics of Natalie and Matt?
"Sigh... You know, these designs kind of make me wonder what animated episodes would look like. "
Ooh! I'd be up for that.
And here's an idea that's almost certainly too late to make it into the DVD boxset, dammit, but... How about *videoing* a table-reading of the unmade episode and putting it on the DVD, with AMZ's illustrations dropped in to pep up the more visual and action-y bits? Most of it could be artwork already done for the graphic novel version, with a few extras done for where the GN and the script differ...
If the problem with making the ep. was budgetary, then how much cheaper could you possibly do it than this? =:o} Sure it's nowhere close to the show as envisaged, but it would make a nice complement to the GN (rather than competing with it) and would mean we at least get the season finale in *some* form at the end of the boxset.
And Wendy finally got a grown-up gun instead of the little Midget Cricket she had in the commercials! :) MM doesn't look exactly like Keeslar (although the lack of stubble is more like the Middleman I first came to love), but Wendy is like a babified version of Natalie Morales (and how you make THAT look better is quite beyond me). Especially loving the shot of her with her glasses on and her hair back, but the whole thing looks like it'll be just awesome. Can't wait for it, just can NOT wait.
News of the DVD coming out AND a comic continuation of the series. Excuse me, but I have to go explode now like a poodle in a microwave. This is MADE OF AWESOME!!! Can't wait to see some promo shots of how Lacey and Noser will look. I am just doing a fangirl paroxysm right now.
It's been awhile since I've been able to write Middleman fanfic (except for a Dollhouse crossover crack!fic that you don't even want to KNOW about), but I think you just awakened my MiddleMuse from cryo.
Javi, you are a truly talented man and I'm glad to see you continuing one of my favorite franchises. Rock on with your bad self!!!

Television may have broken my heart too often for me to trust it, but it's nice to know that print will always love me back!

Feasible?
